Video Device Settings

This page lets you change various settings for each video device.

The device nickname will be displayed in logfiles, on webpages and in the user interface. You can give your camere a name that is easier to recognise than the official driver name.

The audio device is used for sound in video streaming and for recording videos.

'Device format' lets you change the size and compression format for your video driver. The size of the images and videos captured are the same as the size specified in this box. You might have compression options like i420, rgb24, rgb12, Yuv and more, and often the webcam manual will recommend one of them. Selecting the right one can result in better performance.

The three buttons are access to different driver properties, and they may be enabled or disabled depending on the device. The contents and options in these boxes differs from device to device.
